It was all determined by vote. Since she didn’t win, she is eligible to run again, and will if she keeps this streak up.

There will be new contestants at the end of every month, based on the actions of that month which made them qualify as assholes. Cheney is disqualified until next January’s Asshole of the Year contest and will compete against 11 other assholes for the title!
I think a cyber-trophy would suffice. Who would like to design one? Sylvia?
